In a recent press release, the National Institute of Health (NIH) referred to a 2015 systematic review and meta-analysis of cupping that concluded, “cupping could be effective in treating the pain and disability associated with chronic neck pain and chronic low back pain in the short term.” https://www.nccaom.org/science-of-cupping
At AcuHaus, we’ve found cupping to be a beneficial treatment to complement our acupuncture therapies. Cupping is an ancient traditional Chinese therapy in which a practitioner puts special cups on your skin with suction.
People get treated for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blow flow, relaxations, well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage. We typically use it for people with sore or painful muscles that could benefit from the myofascial release that cupping provides. If you are a Founding Member at AcuHaus, don’t forget- you get one free cupping session each month!
